Friday Notice Submission Guidelines

  • Email your announcement to: fridaynotice@willametteview.org before 4 pm Wednesday unless otherwise noted. Please do not send your announcements as PDF attachments or images. The preferred method is just plain text in the email, rather than any attached document.
  • Include the activity name, date, time, location, and individual or group sponsoring the activity.
  • Include all details including if registration is required; if there is a cost; etc. 
  • Include your full name and phone number in case the editor has questions.
  • A Zoom event must include the Zoom hyperlink and passcode.
  • Notices are edited as needed. Recommended length for the calendar is 35 words, and 60 words for the “This & That” section.
  • Notices are accepted up to 30 days in advance and run for a maximum of 3 times.

Friday Notice Content Guidelines

Acceptable Friday Notices:

  • Campus events and activities open to all residents
  • Announcements applicable to all residents
  • Example of acceptable announcement: 
         New Books in the Library!
  • Example of announcement that is not acceptable: 
         Rooftop Party for residents of the Court building only

Items generally not permitted:

  • Lost and Found Announcements
  • Solicitations / for sale notices
  • Opinions, requests, or suggestions
  • Greater community events and activities not associated with a Willamette View activity, committee, or outing.

The Friday Notice is published weekly by the administration of Willamette View, Inc. as a service to residents. Items are published in the Friday Notice at the discretion of Willamette View's administrators and the editor.
